It’s a chaotic, vertical city that seemingly never ends. But at night, its raw intensity softens into a glowing sea of lights. Revealing the contrasts between ancient pagodas and futuristic towers, between metrocars zipping through concrete valleys and the bustling city streets.
This series captures the surreal beauty that emerges when the neon lights turn on, giving the city its Cyberpunk nickname. Where bright signs slice through the misty air, reflections ripple across the Yangtze River, and elevated trains snake between high-rise buildings.
The images were taken across different parts of Chongqing, highlighting the city’s unique spatial density and the cinematic atmosphere that unfolds in the dark.
